Pete Hegseth Asks Army Chief Of Staff Gen. Randy George To Step Down As Two More High Ranking Army Officers, Gen. David Hodne And Maj. Gen. William Green Removed As Well
According to an article published by CBS News, Pete Hegseth has asked Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George to step down while two more high ranking army officers were removed from their position on the same day.
The two other high ranking army officers are Gen. David Hodne, former leader of army’s Transformation and Training Command, and Maj. Gen. William Green, who formerly headed Army’s Chaplain Corps who have now be relieved of their duties by Pete Hegseth.
According to CBS: “The Army chief of staff typically serves a four-year term. George was nominated for the position by President Joe Biden and confirmed by the Senate in 2023, meaning he would typically have held the position until 2027″.
Since Hegseth has taken the role of ‘Secretary of War’, he has fired more than a dozen senior military officers, including Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. C.Q. Brown, Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Lisa Franchetti, the Air Force Vice Chief of Staff Gen. James Slife and the head of the Defense Intelligence Agency Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Kruse.
For context, Pete Hegseth is the only Secretary of Defense in US history to have the lowest net approval rating which now sits at a staggering net negative rating of -15%.
