2 Men Sentenced Over Arson Plot: Court Hears Hired Arsonists Were Told They Hit A High-Ranking British Target
According to The Moscow Times, Ukrainian national Roman Lavrynovych was sentenced to seven years and accomplice Stanislav Carpiuc to two years on June 19 for a string of arson attacks tied to UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
In May 2025, the 21-year-old Lavrynovych progressed from vandalism to arson within five days, torching a car once owned by Starmer, a property he previously occupied in Islington, and the Kentish Town home where Starmer’s sister-in-law and her sleeping daughter lived. He was paid £500 for spray-painting a car and £2,000 for the vehicle arson, dismissing a warning that “the cheese is free only in a mousetrap” with “it’s england, no one cares.”
This matters because the attacks fit a documented pattern, with nearly 60 similar incidents across Europe linked to Russia or its proxies since 2022, recruiting low-level operatives through messaging apps for cash.
