Sky47 Limited’s Sovereign Cloud Platform Backed By Mari Energies Offers AI Computing, Cybersecurity And Enterprise Hosting Across Government, Banking And Healthcare Sectors

According to The Express Tribune, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on July 24, 2026 inaugurated Sky47’s Karakoram-01 data centre in Rawalpindi, describing it as Pakistan’s first purpose-built, AI-ready Tier III/IV facility and calling it a step toward “a new very dynamic, forward-looking Pakistan.”

The facility, a majority-owned subsidiary of Mari Energies Limited, was disclosed through a submission to the Pakistan Stock Exchange. It is designed to support artificial intelligence, machine learning and high-performance computing while providing sovereign cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity solutions, enterprise hosting and managed technology services.

PM Shehbaz praised the centre as built in record time by civilian and military minds, and said it offered “impregnable security” for Pakistan’s sensitive national and commercial data. IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja called it the foundation for “token intelligence”; the most important economic unit of the modern era.

Target sectors include government, banking, telecommunications, healthcare and technology, positioning Karakoram-01 as a critical domestic alternative at a moment of rising global demand for data localisation.
