Cricket Returns To Africa After 24 Years As Wanderers Newlands Harare Sports Club And Namibia Cricket Ground Among Stadiums Confirmed For 57-Match Tournament Under Three Nations One Heartbeat Brand
According to the ICC, the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027 will be hosted across 12 venues in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, with the host cities and tournament brand unveiled at a spectacular ceremony in Johannesburg on July 30, 2026.
Eight South African cities will stage matches; Johannesburg (Wanderers), Tshwane (Centurion), Cape Town (Newlands), Durban (Kingsmead), Gqeberha (St George’s Park), Bloemfontein (Mangaung Oval), Paarl (Boland Park) and KuGompo City (Buffalo Park). Zimbabwe contributes three venues: Harare Sports Club, Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo, and the Fale Mosi-oa-Tunya International Cricket Stadium in Victoria Falls. Namibia hosts at its Windhoek ground, marking its first senior ICC tournament.
The 57-match tournament returns cricket to Africa after 24 years; the last time was the 2003 edition co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Kenya. The brand, inspired by the African wire bowl, is called “Three Nations, One Heartbeat” and is guided by the Ubuntu philosophy: “I am, because we are.”
ICC Chairman Jay Shah called it “a landmark moment for cricket.” The tournament features a new three-stage format: a Super Series for teams ranked 12–14, a 30-match round-robin phase, and a Super 7 stage leading to semi-finals and a final.
