PSX KSE-100 Falls 495 Points To 175,548 As US-Iran War Escalation Pushes Oil Higher And Rattles Investor Sentiment

PSX KSE-100 Falls 495 Points To 175,548: Index Plunged As Much As 1,430 Points Intraday Before Recovering With ENGROH LUCK SYS HUBC PPL Eroding 547 Points And Foreign Investors Selling Rs255 Million

According to The Express Tribune, Pakistan’s benchmark KSE-100 index fell 495 points, or 0.28 percent, to close at 175,547.98 on July 31, 2026 as renewed US-Iran war hostilities drove international oil prices higher and eroded investor confidence across the session.

The market opened gap-down and plunged as much as 1,430 points intraday before buyers stepped in near the 175,000 support level and recovered a significant portion of losses. Market breadth remained weak, with 279 stocks declining against only 175 advancing.

Arif Habib Limited noted that Fauji Fertiliser Company, UBL and Engro Fertilisers provided the main index support, rising 1.14 percent, 1.03 percent and 1.57 percent respectively. Engro Holdings, Lucky Cement and Systems Ltd emerged as the heaviest drags, falling 2.25, 1.76 and 1.93 percent.

Topline Securities identified ENGROH, LUCK, SYS, HUBC and PPL as the major laggards, collectively eroding 547 points from the index. Foreign investors sold shares worth Rs255 million. Total trading volumes were 711 million shares worth Rs25.4 billion.

On the corporate front, EFERT reported 2QCY26 net profit of Rs3.8 billion, down 32 percent year-on-year, while Bank Alfalah posted Rs10 billion profit, up 27 percent year-on-year.
