Qatar is set to welcome a significant shift in weather conditions as October arrives, with the Qatar Meteorology Department forecasting milder temperatures and the first signs of the cooler season. The Peninsula Qatar

The daily mean temperature for October sits at 29.8°C; a welcome drop from the intense summer heat, with historical records ranging from a record low of 16.6°C, set in 1975, to a record high of 43.4°C recorded in 1967.

The month is expected to bring increased atmospheric activity, including cumulus cloud formation during afternoons and the possibility of morning fog, particularly across inland areas. Winds will predominantly shift between northwesterly and northeasterly directions, with land and sea breezes becoming more pronounced as conditions ease.

Marine conditions also warrant attention, with wave heights forecast at four to eight feet for parts of the reporting period; a reminder that October’s transition brings variability alongside its relief.

For residents and visitors alike, the shift signals the beginning of Qatar’s most pleasant outdoor season, as temperatures gradually trend toward the comfortable conditions the country’s winter months are known for. The Peninsula Qatar reported the forecast on October 1, 2026.
