Pakistan Army Conducts Successful Test Launch of Fatah-2 Extended Range Hypersonic Missile

Pakistan Tests Fatah-2 ER Hypersonic Missile, Capable of Defeating Enemy Air Defences

Pakistan’s Army has successfully test-fired the Fatah-2 Extended Range (ER), a hypersonic ballistic missile, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on October 13, 2026. The launch was witnessed by Army Rocket Force Command (ARFC) chief Lieutenant General Nauman Zakaria, along with senior military officers, scientists, and engineers. Dawn News

The Fatah-2 ER features advanced navigation and avionics systems alongside high-precision targeting capabilities. According to ISPR, its unique trajectory and manoeuvrability make it capable of defeating enemy missile defence systems; a significant strategic attribute in modern conflict. The missile’s extended range is designed to give the Pakistan Army the ability to strike deep targets, substantially enhancing its operational reach.

The test also validated several sub-systems aimed at improving accuracy and survivability. This launch follows last week’s successful test of the extended version of the Fatah-IV ground-launched cruise missile, indicating an accelerated pace of weapons development and validation within the Army’s rocket forces.

President, Prime Minister, and the Chief of Defence Forces all congratulated the team of scientists and engineers following the successful test. Read our previous article on Pakistan Military related news here.
