Sindh Government Introduces New Pick and Drop Rule at Karachi Airport Which Limits Entry to Two Persons Per Passenger Amid Security Review
The Sindh Government pick and drop rule at Karachi Airport has officially come into effect, limiting entry to a maximum of two individuals accompanying each passenger. The decision was announced on Thursday as part of broader efforts to reduce overcrowding and strengthen security at one of Pakistan’s busiest airports.
Authorities said the move follows a detailed security assessment in light of recent threat evaluations. Senior officials, including the Inspector General of Sindh Police, participated in high-level briefings before the rule was finalized.
Under the new directive, only two people will be permitted inside designated areas for picking up or dropping off travelers. Officials believe the restriction will help improve crowd control, enhance surveillance efficiency, and reduce potential security risks.
Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar also directed police to enhance coordination with all law enforcement agencies to ensure smooth implementation.
