Pakistan Afghanistan Border Conflict Intensifies Along Durand Line as Military Operations and Casualty Claims Mount
The Pakistan Afghanistan border conflict has sharply escalated following claims of cross-border military operations along the Durand Line. Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid alleged that Afghan forces carried out large-scale offensives against Pakistani troops, further inflaming tensions between the two neighbors.
Pakistani forces launched a decisive response across multiple sectors, seizing several border posts and intensifying operations in Afghanistan’s Paktia region. Information Minister Attaullah Tarar claimed heavy Afghan losses, with up to 133 killed and over 200 injured.
Artillery, drones, and air strikes were deployed in what has become one of Pakistan’s most aggressive modern campaigns under Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, significantly escalating the conflict.
According to Al Jazeera, global powers including Russia, China, the United Kingdom, and the United Nations have called for restraint, while Iran has offered to mediate.
