Google Scraps Crowdsourced AI Health Advice ‘What People Suggest’ Feature In The Latest Move To Simplify Its Search Page
According to The News International, Google has scrapped its ‘What People Suggest’ Feature in its latest move to simplify its search page as confirmed by a Google Spokesperson. This feature was for crowdsourced AI Health Advice which connected individuals together on common health issues and brought results that strangers have recommended.
This feature was earlier implemented by Google as a “revolutionary use of AI to transform health outcomes globally,”.
On the contrary, a report published by The Guardian on January stated that Google AI Overviews was under scrutiny for giving health advices as these advices were putting people under increased risk. In response to this, Google had restricted the Google AI Overviews feature to some medical queries over safety concerns.
No further comment has been made on behalf of the company as to why the ‘What People Suggest’ feature is being scrapped and how crowdsourced AI Health Advice would be used now.
