Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Calls For A Detailed Roadmap For ‘Skill City’ Which Will Equip Youth With Industry-Ready Skills
According to The Nation, Punjab is set to work on developing a ‘skill city’ for the youth in an attempt to empower them with contemporary skills necessary to be competitive in the job industry today.
Advanced technical institutes will be built within the ‘skill city’ which will be in line with the industry’s current demands. The reason for this initiative is to equip the youth with practical skills necessary for the current job industry.
Moreover, Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority Punjab is aiming to collaborate with top educational institutions in the UK and Scotland to ensure international standards are met.
This shows that the Punjab government is keen on modernizing its province and its citizens. Dedicating a city aimed at developing the youth for the current job market will boost Pakistan’s economy greatly and will bring Pakistan towards greater digitalization.
It will also limit the gap that the Pakistani citizens possess in terms of knowledge and skill-sets in comparison to the rest of the world. Building a city such as this will also surely increase Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
