A Nearby Dwarf Galaxy Is Behaving Strangely: Scientists Discover A ‘Cosmic Crash’ Responsible For Odd Behaviour
According to ScienceDaily, scientists have discovered a ‘cosmic crash’ responsible for a nearby Dwarf Galaxy’s odd behaviour. The galaxy in question is known as the Small Magellanic Cloud. It consists of several hundred million stars, much smaller than our Milky Way Galaxy.
Scientists have reported that stars have been moving in chaotic patterns due to the dwarf galaxy slamming into its larger neighbour. This cosmic event is attributed to the galaxy’s strange but otherwise intriguing behaviour.
Small Magellanic Cloud crashed with its neighbouring Large Magellanic Cloud. The disruption of the galaxy’s gas created the illusion that the it was rotating normally.
