Microsoft To Remove Some Of Copilot’s AI Bloat In Windows 11

Microsoft To Follow The ‘Less Is More’ Principle In Integrating Copilot’s AI Where It Truly Matters In An Effort To Remove Bloat In Windows 11

On Friday 20 March 2026, Microsoft announced that it will be making changes in Windows 11 using their latest update implementation that will address user concerns regarding the amount of bloat that exists in Windows 11.

According to TechCrunch, Microsoft will dial back on the number of entry points for its AI assistant, Copilot. This will help in reducing bloat in Windows 11, allowing the operating system to function more efficiently. According to Pavan Davuluri who is the EVP of Windows and Devices, this update will ensure Copilot is used where it is “genuinely useful”.

Previously when Microsoft had no intentions to remove bloatware, expert users that were familiar with what bloatware was used in Windows 11 took it to themselves to disable and remove them in an effort to ‘debloat’ the operating system.

However, since not everyone is a technical expert on operating systems, Microsoft eventually had listen to user concerns and implement an easy update that would debloat Windows 11 to some extent.

Debloating Windows 11 would improve its overall responsiveness and speed by freeing up RAM and CPU usage to allow active programs to run faster.
