Islamabad-based Pakistan Institute For Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS) Showed That 331 People Were Killed In March Compared To 506 In February This Year Which Is A 35% Recorded Decrease In Fatalities From Terrorism
According to Dawn News, the Islamabad-based Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS) released the records for the number of people killed in March due to acts of terrorism. According to the data shown, 331 individuals were killed compared to the 506 figure in February that made Pakistan infamous for becoming the highest ranked country in Global Terrorism Index.
This monumental reduction in figures coincides with the successful Operation Ghazab lil-Haq that also allowed Pakistan to capture 32 KM area of Afghanistan to take the Ghudwana enclave. As a result of this development, the data has reflected reduction in fatalities caused by terrorism thus proving that terrorism has decreased.
PICSS also showed an overall 37% reduction in overall injuries with 210 people injured in March compared to 333 in February. Despite increase in militant activity by terrorist organisations such as Tehreek-Taliban-Pakistan (TTP) and others, the overall bleak figures showed a massive decline from February to March.
While this is great news for Pakistan, this also indirectly points the finger at Afghanistan and Taliban. Now it is up to Afghan Taliban to answer to the statistics and undeniable proof that their defeat has directly improved safety and security in Pakistan. For Pakistan, these statistics will go far in debunking any future forms of propaganda spewed by Afghan Taliban on social media painting Pakistan Armed Forces in a negative light.
