BYD’s New High Performance ‘Seal 07’ EV To Feature An Ultra Fast 1,500 KW Flash Charging That Features Charging Times From 10%-70% In Just 5 Minutes
According to The Driven, BYD which has become the world’s fastest car company due to successful EV sales both nationally and globally, has decided to launch a new model named ‘Seal 07’ which is the latest high performance EV featuring flash charging of 1,500 KW.
This has been possible due to the new Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery packs which will incorporate flash charging of up to 1,500 KW in the company’s upcoming flash charging sites.
This means that it might take just as much as time as it takes to fill up petrol or diesel for non EV cars which is a revolutionary move towards bridging the gap in terms of practicality.
In terms of specs, BYD’s new 2026 Seal 07 EV features a 710 km (NEDC) range on a single charge, and ultra-fast charging, adding 249 miles in 5 minutes. It also utilizes a 240 kW (322 hp) single rear motor. Though, the boasting figures of 710 km sounds optimistic and the NEDC range is largely outdated and now replaced by WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure) for measuring fuel efficiency and economy in EVs.
To convert to more realistic range numbers, the simple rule can be followed: NEDC = WLTP ÷ 0.85. In this case the actual and more realistic singe-charge range figures account to only 85% of the boasted 710 km (NEDC) range, thus bringing the range down to 603.5 km.
