Tesla Posts Record $28.24 Billion Q2 Revenue But Misses Badly On Profit With EPS Of Just $0.33

Record 480,126 Deliveries And 26 Percent Revenue Growth Cannot Hide Tesla’s 57 Percent Operating Income Collapse And Negative Free Cash Flow In Q2 2026

According to Yahoo Finance, Tesla reported second-quarter 2026 revenue of $28.24 billion, up 26 percent year-over-year, beating analyst expectations of $25.71 billion. Shares dropped nearly 3 percent in after-hours trading.

The headline revenue masked a serious profit problem. Non-GAAP EPS came in at $0.33, down 18 percent year-over-year and well below the $0.51 analysts expected. Operating margin collapsed to 1.4 percent from 4.1 percent a year ago, while free cash flow turned negative at minus $1.09 billion as capital expenditures surged 142 percent to $5.79 billion. Regulatory credit revenue fell to $146 million from $439 million a year ago, hammering automotive margins. Operating expenses rose 47 percent to $4.35 billion, driven by heavy AI infrastructure spending. The energy storage segment brought in $3.14 billion, up 13 percent, while services revenue surged 50 percent to $4.58 billion.

Tesla crossed $100 billion in trailing twelve-month revenue for the first time. But investors who looked past the top line saw a company spending aggressively on its future while the present quietly contracted.

Record deliveries, record revenue, and a profit that almost wasn’t there.
