Dar Attends Arab League And Islamic Countries Ministerial Meeting August 5 Invited By Jordan FM Al Safadi. Pakistan Calls For Independent Palestinian State On Pre-1967 Borders With Al-Quds As Capital
According to Dawn, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar departed for Amman on August 4, 2026 to attend a one-day ministerial meeting on the deteriorating situation in occupied Jerusalem, where he will “reaffirm Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their just cause.”
The Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem, held on August 5, brought together foreign ministers from Arab League member states and Islamic countries to discuss the deteriorating situation in the region. Dar was personally invited by Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Al Safadi. The attending foreign ministers also called on King Abdullah II of Jordan during the visit.
Dar held bilateral meetings with counterparts on the sidelines to exchange views on regional developments and the humanitarian situation in Palestine. The FO described his participation as “a manifestation of Pakistan’s principled support for the Palestinian people” and its commitment to an “independent, sovereign and contiguous” State of Palestine based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
Pakistan and other Muslim countries have repeatedly condemned Israeli settler incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque — Islam’s third-holiest site. In June, foreign ministers of Pakistan and eight other Muslim countries expressed their “categorical rejection” of any attempts to alter the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem.
Pakistan sends its foreign minister. The message is consistent: Al-Quds, pre-1967 borders, no status quo change at Al-Aqsa.
