Delegation Led By Prince Mansour Bin Mohammad Al Saud. Saudi-Pakistan Joint Business Council. G2G And B2B Frameworks Discussed. 40 Projects Worth $28 Billion Presented Last Year. $5 Billion Investment Package Pledged. 7 Of 34 October 2024 MoUs Now Formal Agreements Worth $560 Million
According to Arab News, a high-level Saudi business delegation led by Prince Mansour bin Mohammad Al Saud, chairman of the Saudi-Pakistan Joint Business Council, visited Pakistan’s Special Investment Facilitation Council in Islamabad on August 26, 2026, for talks on investment opportunities in energy, infrastructure, privatisation, industry, communications and highways, covering both government-to-government and business-to-business frameworks.-
The SIFC, established in 2023 as a civil-military facilitation body primarily targeting Gulf investors, coordinated the delegation’s meetings with senior officials from the power, petroleum, privatisation, industries, communications and highways ministries, as well as leading private-sector companies. The council described the visit as aimed at translating longstanding economic ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia into “tangible, sustainable and mutually beneficial investment outcomes.”
The visit follows a deepening Saudi investment track: during Prince Mansour’s visit last year, Pakistan presented 40 projects worth more than $28 billion across energy, mining, IT, agriculture, connectivity, tourism, industry and privatisation. In October 2024, Investment Minister Khalid Al-Falih led a delegation that resulted in 34 agreements and MoUs worth $2.8 billion; of which 7 had been formalised into agreements worth $560 million by December 2024. Saudi Arabia has also pledged a separate $5 billion investment package for Pakistan. More than 2.5 million Pakistanis work in Saudi Arabia, making the Kingdom a critical remittance source.
Saudi Arabia is shifting its Pakistan relationship from a financial lifeline to a commercial partnership. The SIFC is the vehicle. The next test is execution. Check out our previous coverage of Pakistan’s economy on The Trusted Times.
