Global Net Tightens: Interpol Issues Red Notices for Malik Riaz and His Son

International Manhunt for Malik Riaz and His Son Begins Following NAB Breakthrough

According to Pakistan Today, in a major development for Pakistan’s legal and real estate sectors, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has announced that Interpol has officially issued Red Notices for Bahria Town founder Malik Riaz and his son, Ali Riaz.

The announcement was made by NAB Chairman Lt Gen (retd) Nazir Ahmed during a high-profile press briefing in Islamabad, marking a significant escalation in the pursuit of the property tycoons.

The notices are linked to extensive investigations involving alleged corruption and money laundering exceeding Rs 700 billion. Authorities state that the duo is currently residing in the United Arab Emirates, where Malik Riaz and Ali Riaz have been involved in multi-billion-dollar housing projects.

While the NAB chief acknowledged the diplomatic and operational challenges of securing their return, he confirmed that a dedicated team is being dispatched to facilitate their extradition.

Both individuals have previously been declared absconders in the Al-Qadir Trust case, which has seen several high-profile political figures questioned.

Despite these official claims, independent verification from Interpol’s public database is still pending, a common occurrence during the early stages of such global alerts.

This move signals a resolute stance by the accountability watchdog to address long-standing allegations of state land encroachment and financial irregularities.
