NASA Artemis III’s Yet-To-Be-Named Astronauts Are Set To Practice Docking Their Orion Capsule In Orbit Around The Earth To Prepare For Second Moon Flyby In 2027
According to PBS News, NASA has announced that after the successful and historic Moon flyby, Artemis III is set to be scheduled for targeted launch by mid-2027. For the time being, the unnamed astronauts will participate in practice sessions for docking their Orion Capsule in orbit around the Earth.
While NASA is preparing for Artemis III Moon Mission, Elon Musk’s Starship and Jeff Bezos’ Blue Moon are vying for Artemis IV Moon Landing in 2028. In this mission, the South Polar region will be targeted for landing by two astronauts. This is the preferred location for Isaacman’s envisioned $20 billion to $30 billion moon base as the south polar region offers ice that could provide water and rocket fuel.
While the upcoming years are going to be certainly exciting, it is without a shadow of doubt that NASA practices extreme caution when handling Moon Missions. Thus, NASA would have to ensure there are no further delays and hiccups up until 2028 so that all the scheduled launches go as planned.
