Pakistan Hosts First SCO National Coordinators’ Meeting Under Its 2026–27 Chairmanship: Islamabad Kicks Off SCO Chairmanship With Inaugural National Coordinators’ Summit
Pakistan has taken a significant step in its role as chair of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) by hosting the first-ever SCO National Coordinators’ Meeting in Islamabad from September 28–30, 2026. Business Recorder
The three-day gathering brings together national coordinators from all SCO member states alongside representatives of the SCO Secretariat. The agenda covers coordination of SCO cooperation activities, the programme of events under Pakistan’s chairmanship, and preparations for upcoming high-level meetings.
This meeting marks the formal launch of Pakistan’s 2026–27 chairmanship of the SCO Council of Heads of State, held under the theme “Turning Vision into Action: Connectivity, Innovation and Shared Prosperity.” Pakistan’s chairmanship priorities centre on deepening regional connectivity, fostering technological innovation, expanding economic cooperation, and strengthening people-to-people ties among member nations.
The coordinators’ meeting serves as critical groundwork ahead of the SCO Council of Heads of State summit, which Pakistan is scheduled to host in August 2027, a landmark diplomatic moment for the country.
