Electrek reports that Slate Auto officially opened preorders on June 24 for its bare-bones electric pickup truck priced at $24,950, simultaneously revealing a range upgrade from 150 miles to an estimated 205 miles powered by a 65 kWh LFP battery pack producing 181 horsepower.

The truck has no infotainment screen, no speakers, and crank windows. All units ship in the same unpainted grey composite finish, with vinyl wraps as the only colour option. The SUV conversion; which adds a rear bench, roll cage, and exterior shell, starts at $29,950. More than 180,000 people are already in the preorder queue. The $300 deposit converts from an earlier $50 reservation for just $250 more.
