Guerrero Flores, 43, Ran Tren De Aragua For Over A Decade Growing It From A Venezuelan Prison Gang Into A US-Designated Terrorist Organisation Active Across North America, South America And Europe, Living “Like A King” In Tocorón Prison Before Escaping In 2023
According to BBC, CBS News, CNN and The Washington Post, President Donald Trump announced Friday that the alleged leader of Tren de Aragua, a Venezuela-based gang that’s a key target of his immigration enforcement agenda, was killed by the US military in cooperation with the Venezuelan government.
“At my direction, the United States Southern Command delivered a swift and lethal kinetic strike to successfully execute Niño Guerrero, the infamous leader of Tren De Aragua, one of the most bloodthirsty Terrorist Organizations on Planet Earth,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
US Southern Command Commander Gen. Francis Donovan said: “We extend our gratitude to the Venezuelan security forces for their support to the successful joint operation against a Tren de Aragua compound that resulted in the death of the narco-terrorist organization’s leader.”
US Southern Command described Guerrero Flores, 43, as a “wanted fugitive.” He was indicted late last year in New York federal court on charges including racketeering, conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists and cocaine conspiracy. The State Department offered up to $5 million for information leading to his capture.
Also known as “The Unspeakable” or “The Big Eyebrow,” Guerrero Flores ran Tren de Aragua for more than a decade, helping to grow it from a Venezuelan prison gang to a transnational organization.
He escaped prison in 2023 and remained at large. Guerrero Flores lived “like a king” during part of his time in prison, occupying an entire floor monitored by bodyguards, with a swimming pool, a zoo and a nightclub. The killing is part of a broader military campaign that has resulted in more than 200 people killed in strikes on alleged drug boats.
