Oil Surges Past $100 a Barrel as Iran War Accelerates Global Economic Turmoil

Oil Surges Past $100 a Barrel as Iran War Accelerates Global Economic Turmoil Amid Confirmation of New Iranian Supreme Leader

According to NBC News, oil surges past $100 a barrel as the Iran War has intensified further with the destruction of multiple oil depots in Tehran by targeted Israeli strikes. Moreover, the US has confirmed the casualty of another American soldier due to an Iranian airstrike in Saudi Arabia. This raises the American military deaths to 7, though these are only the confirmed numbers that are allowed to be reported.

Simultaneously, Israel has censored any reporting of the bombardment of Tel Aviv via Iranian airstrikes with the only sources on social media being individuals recording missile strikes from their mobile phones. This raises questions over the true coverage of the escalating conflict and the credibility over US-Israeli claims that it is ‘winning’ the conflict.

In addition to this, the new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has formally been appointed as the Supreme Leader on the 10th day of the Iranian Conflict. Mojtaba Khamenei is the son of the slain and former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
