California Storm Raises Flood and Travel Concerns
A major California storm is expected to bring heavy rain, flash flooding and dangerous travel conditions over the next few days, with Northern California facing the highest risk. Rain will intensify over the weekend and could lead to flooding in cities, low-lying areas and mountain streams.
Southern California has already seen significant rainfall, with parts of San Diego and Pasadena reporting flooding after soaking downpours. While parts of the state may see a brief break, rain is expected to return stronger by Sunday as a moisture-rich weather system moves inland.

Forecasters warn that Northern and Central California could receive several inches of rain, with even higher totals along the Sierra Nevada foothills. Sacramento and surrounding areas are also expected to see steady rainfall.
At higher elevations, snow levels are expected to drop sharply. Several feet of snow may fall in the Sierra Nevada, increasing the risk of road closures. Donner Pass could become impassable as snow piles up faster than crews can clear it, making travel extremely difficult early next week.
