The Dell 14 Plus Has A New Name And A New Platform: Here Is Everything You Need To Know Before You Configure One
According to Notebookcheck, Dell has globally launched its new 14-inch consumer laptop, the Dell 14S, built on Intel’s Panther Lake platform. The laptop succeeds the Dell 14 Plus and ships with Intel Arc B390 graphics, a 70 Wh battery, and a choice between a 1200p OLED or a 1600p IPS display running at up to 120 Hz.
Processor options vary by region. North American buyers can configure the Dell 14S with up to a Core Ultra X7 358H, while European markets are limited to the Core Ultra 5 322 and Core Ultra 7 355. RAM goes up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X-7467 and storage reaches up to 2 TB PCIe. There is a tradeoff worth flagging: selecting the Core Ultra 9 or X7 chip locks the display to a 60 Hz OLED panel, meaning the 120 Hz IPS option is only available on mid-range configurations.
Pricing starts at £1,149 in the UK, €1,299 in Europe and $1,319 in the US for the base Core Ultra 5 setup with 16 GB RAM and a 512 GB SSD. At the top end, a fully specced Core Ultra X7 model pushes the price to $2,169, placing it firmly in premium laptop territory alongside competitors like the MacBook Pro and ASUS Zenbook Pro.
