April 10, 2026: A New AI Agent Has Been Introduced As The ‘OpenClaw For Casuals’

A New AI Startup Claims The New Poke AI Agent Is Like The OpenClaw For Casual Users Which Makes The AI As Easy To Use As Sending A Text Message

According to Tech Crunch, a new AI startup company by the name Poke has launched its Poke AI Agent which replicates the functionality of the famed OpenClaw but with much simpler steps. It was launched in March as a personal assistant app or a companion app that would do anything, from tracking emails, marking calendars, setting reminders, tracking health and fitness to controlling your smartphones, editing images and videos etc., all via an input of a text message by the human user.

Poke AI positions itself as an agent that can be used to automate your everyday tasks, getting things done faster on your phone with less manual human input.

According to Tech Crunch, “Poke AI is backed by Spark Capital, General Catalyst, and other angels, the 10-person startup has more recently added another $10 million to its coffers, on top of last year’s $15 million seed round. It’s now valued at $300 million, post-money.”

Moreover, to work over messaging platforms like iMessage, Poke AI Agent also leverages Linq, a solution that enables AI assistants to live within messaging apps. The app can run through SMS and Telegram, too, but WhatsApp support is currently limited as Meta barred other general-purpose chatbots last fall.
