Ministry Of Energy Announces Second Consecutive Day Of Price Increases As Petrol Climbs Rs1.63 And High Speed Diesel Rs1.55 Per Litre Under OGRA Daily Revision Framework
According to Radio Pakistan, the Pakistani government revised petroleum product prices upward on July 29, 2026, with petrol rising by Rs1.63 per litre to Rs335.81 and High Speed Diesel climbing by Rs1.55 per litre to Rs388.38, as announced by the Ministry of Energy.
The increases come through Pakistan’s daily petroleum pricing mechanism, introduced this month after OGRA was granted authority to revise ex-depot prices each day based on international market movements rather than the previous fortnightly cycle. The new system means consumers now absorb global oil price shifts in near real-time.
Both increases follow Pakistan’s July 22 fuel hike; petrol had risen Rs4.93 to Rs320.73 and HSD Rs7.15 to Rs367.21 and a further upward revision on July 25. The cumulative effect has been a steady escalation in pump prices as the US-Iran war continues to create volatility in global crude markets.
Daily revisions do not allow consumers to plan around price changes. When global oil spikes, the pump price spikes the next morning.
