Pakistan Ranked Most Polluted Country In The World In 2025 With Concentrations Of Hazardous Small Particles (PM 2.5) Levels 13 Times Higher Than Recommended By The World Health Organization
According to Reuters, Pakistan was ranked as the world’s smoggiest country in 2025 with consistent concentrations of hazardous small particles (PM 2.5) levels being 13 times higher than the recommended levels stated by the WHO for health and safety reasons.
In addition to this, IQAir a Swiss Air Quality Monitoring Firm reported in its annual report that only 13 countries managed to keep PM 2.5 levels at the WHO standard of less than 5 micrograms per cubic metre last year. Thus, in total, 130 out of 143 monitored countries and territories failed to meet the WHO guideline.
Bangladesh and Tajikistan are the two countries that followed Pakistan ranking in second and third respectively in the world’s most polluted countries list.
