Qatar’s Museum Of Islamic Art: The Screening Was Attended By Qatar’s Education Minister Lolwah Bint Rashid Al Khater, French Ambassador Arnaud Pescheux And Palestinian Ambassador Fayez Majed Abu Al Rub, As Palestinian AFP Photographer Mahmud Hams, Who Appears In The Film, Said It Captures Only Part Of The Danger Journalists Faced Behind The Camera
According to Gulf Times, the Museum of Islamic Art hosted a screening on Monday of the documentary Inside Gaza, directed by Helene Lam Trong, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of France in Doha.
The screening was attended by HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater, Ambassador of France to Qatar Arnaud Pescheux, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Qatar Fayez Majed Abu Al Rub, and a number of other ambassadors and diplomats accredited to the State.
The documentary follows AFP journalists who found themselves trapped inside Gaza during the first months of the war beginning October 7, 2023, built almost exclusively from footage filmed by the journalists themselves. The French Ambassador said the screening reflects France’s commitment to protecting journalists and to a lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The Palestinian Ambassador said the film serves as living testimony to the suffering of the Palestinian people and the courage of journalists, stressing that the best way to honour those who died is to continue working for justice and press freedom.
Palestinian AFP photographer Mahmud Hams, who appears in the documentary, told QNA the film portrays only part of the danger journalists faced. More than 262 Palestinian journalists have reportedly been killed during the offensive on Gaza, according to Gulf Times.
