Australia and Japan Refuse To Send Ships To Strait of Hormuz Following Trump’s Call To Force Open The Strait Of Hormuz
According to The Guardian, Australia and Japan indicated that they had ‘no plans’ to send ships to Strait of Hormuz following Trump’s increasing pressure. In addition, the UK also states that it has no plans to involve itself in the Strait of Hormuz.
Though UK is hesitant to send warships, it does have plans to send aerial minesweepers to clear out the mines laid as traps in the Strait of Hormuz. China, France and South Korea were other countries which Donald Trump had hoped would participate.
As of now, these countries have not responded to Trump’s appeal with South Korea only suggesting that it would decide after ‘careful review’.
