According to Jalopnik, a 1981 Honda Accord LX listed on Los Angeles Craigslist for $6,000 is generating attention not just for its condition but for its claimed acting résumé.
The first-generation Accord is finished in Hampstead Green with a matching colour-keyed interior, packing the five-speed manual and the up-spec LX trim package. Power comes from Honda’s 1.8-litre CVCC four-cylinder; the Compound Vortex Combustion Chamber design that allowed the engine to meet emissions standards without a catalytic converter, producing 72 horsepower in California specification. The odometer reads 122,294 miles, the title is clean, and the seller describes overall condition as “good.”
The photos back that claim up reasonably well. Paint appears excellent, bodywork shows no notable dings, trim is intact, and the interior is a pure 1980s time capsule, cloth seats, rolling-barrel digital clock, AM/FM cassette, AC, power steering and a COIN compartment on the dash. Minor rust bubbles at the hatch base are the only visible concern.
The Hollywood angle is harder to verify. The seller claims the car appeared in Reneé Rapp’s “Bruises” music video on Broadway in Los Angeles, and suggests a background role in Joker: Folie à Deux, though the latter does not appear on IMCDb. Jalopnik’s Rob Emslie rightly notes that for a well-preserved, five-speed, first-generation Accord at $6,000, the camera credits are a bonus rather than the value proposition.
