Nvidia: From The N1X ARM SoC With 20 CPU Cores And RTX 5070-Grade Integrated Graphics To Expected Surface And Dell Laptops, Jensen Huang’s “New Era Of PC” Teaser Lands At Computex On June 1
According to Reuters, citing Axios, Nvidia and Microsoft will next week unveil the first Windows computers powered by Nvidia-designed chips at Computex in Taipei and Microsoft Build in San Francisco. Nvidia-powered PCs are expected both from Microsoft’s Surface brand and other manufacturers including Dell.
The chip at the centre of the announcement is the N1X; an ARM-based SoC featuring 20 CPU cores split into two 10-core clusters and a Blackwell-based integrated GPU with 6,144 CUDA cores, equivalent in compute to the RTX 5070. It is Nvidia’s first consumer CPU since the Tegra X1 from over a decade ago. Jensen Huang’s Computex keynote is scheduled for June 1.
Microsoft’s first AI PC push stumbled, but Nvidia’s arrival gives it a second chance; this time with the world’s hottest chipmaker attached. Nvidia would not merely be selling graphics into a Windows notebook. It would be selling the compute identity of the whole machine: CPU, GPU, AI acceleration, media, and power management.
