Qatar’s Ministry of Interior called on the public to stay at home, avoid going outside and keep away from windows and open areas, according to Qatar News Agency. The alert came after Kuwait said its air defences were confronting hostile missile and drone attacks, while Bahrain sounded nationwide warning sirens and urged citizens and residents to move to the nearest safe location.
The emergency measures followed a new wave of US strikes on Iran and retaliatory Iranian attacks in the Gulf. US Central Command said it completed a second round of air strikes against Iran to reduce its ability to attack commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, hitting about 90 Iranian military targets including air defence systems, coastal surveillance assets, missile and drone storage sites, naval capabilities and military logistics infrastructure.
US President Donald Trump described the strikes as “retribution” after attacks on commercial ships, writing on Truth Social: “This is in retribution for yesterday’s bombing of ships by Iran. If it happens again, it will get much worse.”
Qatar later issued an all-clear message confirming the immediate threat had passed.
For a region built on stability, open ports and investor confidence, sirens in Bahrain and stay-indoors orders in Doha are not just security events.
