Pakistan Gold Slips Rs4,600 Per Tola To Rs427,436 Even As Spot Gold Rises 0.6% Globally

Pakistan Gold Slips Rs4,600 Per Tola As Pakistan Sarafa Market Diverges From International Recovery As Fed Rate Decision, Houthi Tanker Strikes And Brent Retreat Converge To Unsettle Local Sentiment

According to The Express Tribune, gold prices in Pakistan fell on Friday July 25, 2026, with the per-tola rate settling at Rs427,436 after declining Rs4,600 in the session. The 10-gram rate dropped Rs3,944 to Rs366,457. Silver also weakened, falling Rs61 to Rs6,309 per tola.

The local decline contrasted sharply with international markets. Spot gold rose 0.6 percent to $4,073.23 per ounce by mid-session, recovering from a 2 percent drop the previous day, while US gold futures for August delivery climbed to $4,075.90.

Brent crude retreating from above $100 a barrel eased some inflationary pressure, softening safe-haven demand for gold. Meanwhile investors continued watching the Middle East conflict and its energy impact ahead of the US Federal Reserve rate decision next week. Traders currently assign a high probability to a September rate hike, a factor that typically suppresses non-yielding assets.

Regionally, India showed subdued demand with discounts of up to $56 per ounce, while China traded gold at a premium of $3 to $6, signalling firmer underlying interest. The Pakistani rupee extended marginal gains, closing at Rs277.87 against the US dollar.
