Suicide Bomber Kills 14 Outside Swat Police Station: Kabal Blast Kills 14 And Wounds 22 As Bomber Detonates At Police Station Entrance During Protest Rally Follows Drone Ambush Killing 11 Officers And Car Bomb Killing 27 Soldiers In July
According to Al Jazeera, a suicide bomber killed at least 14 people and wounded 22 others outside a police station in Kabal town in Pakistan’s Swat Valley on August 2, 2026. According to District Police Officer Umar Khan, the bomber detonated explosives after police attempted to stop and search him at the police station entrance.
The attack struck near a crowd of hundreds who had gathered at an adjacent intersection to demand government action against the region’s escalating violence. The blast tore through the gathering as the final speaker was addressing the rally, sending residents fleeing in panic.
The protest itself was a response to surging TTP attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa — just three days earlier, a drone ambush killed 11 police officers in Hangu, while a car bombing in Tank killed 27 soldiers in late July. Researchers at the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies recorded 154 terrorism-related deaths in KP in July alone, more than double June’s toll.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the attack and extended condolences to the families of those killed.
