10 Best Watches Marking America’s 250th Birthday. From $281 Bulova to $13,400 Zenith Carbon

Top 10 Watches Marking America’s 250th Birthday: Breitling, Zenith, Hamilton, Timex, Benrus and More Celebrate 250 Years of Independence With Red, White and Blue Limited Editions Across Every Price Point

According to Gear Patrol, the watch industry has marked America’s 250th Independence Day with more patriotic releases than there were original colonies and the range spans from everyday affordable to investment-grade collectible.

Ten standouts define the moment. Breitling holds the only official collaboration with America250, the government body established by Congress to oversee the anniversary, releasing a pair of blue-dial Avenger tool watches limited to just 250 and 50 pieces respectively, priced from $5,100.

At the top sits Zenith’s Chronomaster Revival Liberty II; a 37mm revival chronograph with a red-white-and-blue panda dial and a “250” rendered in red on the tachymetre scale, reaching $13,400 in carbon fibre.

Hamilton dug deepest into history, reproducing a rare Vietnam-era FAPD 5101 navigator’s watch at $725 in an edition of exactly 1,776 pieces. North Carolina-based Bernhardt Watch Co. buried a Thomas Jefferson cipher; readable only under UV light, into a $795 dive bezel in collaboration with Monticello.

Benrus printed an excerpt from the Declaration of Independence directly on the dial at $1,776. And Timex leads the accessible end at just $329 for its red-white-and-blue Marlin Jet Automatic.

The irony is unavoidable: barely two of the ten watches are made on American soil, and none of the movements are. But the American market matters enough to Swiss, Canadian, English and Japanese brands that they dress their wares in stars and stripes to compete for it.
