2027 Corvette Stingray Gets 535HP LS6 V8, Hits 200 MPH and Costs Just $73,495 to Own

Chevrolet Drops a 6.7-Litre LS6 Into the Base C8 Stingray, Cutting 0-60 to 2.8 Seconds and Unlocking a 200 MPH Top Speed for Under $75,000

According to Jalopnik, Chevrolet has handed the 2027 Corvette Stingray its most significant powertrain upgrade since the C8 launched; a new 6.7-litre LS6 V8 that produces 535 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque, up from the outgoing LT2’s 490hp and 465 lb-ft.

The numbers speak for themselves. With the Z51 performance package fitted, the 2027 Stingray sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds, covers the quarter-mile in exactly 11 seconds at 124 mph, and now tops out at over 200 mph; a threshold the base Corvette has never crossed before.

The starting price with destination sits at $73,495, though serious buyers will want to add the $5,395 Z51 package for its upgraded brakes, cooling, and handling hardware, bringing the real-world entry point to $78,890. The online configurator is already live.

This is a supercar number on a sports car budget. Ferrari charges ten times this for comparable straight-line performance. Chevrolet just made 200 mph accessible to anyone with a mortgage-sized car payment.
