Sony Has Launched The Reon Pocket Pro Plus. A Neck-Worn Wearable Air Conditioner Delivering 20% Stronger Cooling Just As Global Summer Heatwaves Intensify

£199 In The UK, €229 In Europe, A US Launch This Summer. Sony’s Personal Climate Device Is Quietly Becoming A Mainstream Category

According to Forbes, Sony has launched the Reon Pocket Pro Plus, the latest generation of its wearable thermo device, priced at £199 in the UK and €229 across Europe, with a US debut planned through Sony’s online store in summer 2026.

The device sits at the base of the neck, pressing a cooled metal plate against the skin using the Peltier thermoelectric effect rather than blowing air.

Sony claims 20% stronger cooling than the previous Reon Pocket Pro, with the plate reaching about 2°C lower. Battery life stretches to 15 hours in Smart Cool mode.

The bundle includes the Reon Pocket Tag 2, a clip-on sensor that feeds ambient temperature and humidity data wirelessly for sharper cooling decisions.

The bigger picture matters more than the specs. What launched in 2019 as a Japan-only commuter curiosity is now a global flagship category. With heatwaves intensifying every summer, personal climate tech is no longer a novelty. It is becoming infrastructure.
