Fiat Topolino: The 8-Horsepower Italian Micro-EV That Goes 19 MPH and Fits in a Golf Cart Space Is Now Available at Select US Dealers With a Free Street-Legal Upgrade Kit Coming Fall 2026
Fiat has launched the Topolino in the United States at $13,995 making it the cheapest new electric vehicle available in America, undercutting the next-cheapest new car, the Hyundai Venue, by more than $8,000. With a $990 destination charge, the all-in price is $14,985. The EV Report
The two-seat micro-EV measures less than 100 inches long and only 56 inches wide; roughly four feet shorter than a Fiat 500e. It produces just 8 horsepower from a single front-mounted electric motor, draws energy from a 5.4-kWh lithium-ion battery, and delivers a maximum range of 46 miles on a full charge that takes approximately five hours from a standard outlet.
The initial US version is limited to 19 mph and is not street legal in its current form; it must remain on private property and is intended primarily for resorts, campuses, gated communities and coastal towns. A free Low-Speed Vehicle conversion kit arriving in fall 2026 will raise the top speed to 25 mph and allow it to qualify as an LSV, legal on public roads with speed limits of 35 mph or below.
Two versions are available: the standard Topolino with asymmetrical doors and a panoramic glass sunroof, and the Topolino Dolce Vita with rope barriers instead of doors and a roll-back fabric roof. Both come only in Verde Vita mint green.
This is not a car for highways. But as a zero-emission runabout for beach towns, resort communities and anyone whose world is measured in short trips; it may be exactly the vehicle that segment has been waiting for at exactly the right price.
