According to VietnamNet, Samsung’s Galaxy S27 series could return to a January 2027 launch window, reverting to the brand’s traditional early-year schedule after the Galaxy S26 arrived later than usual based on a screenshot of China’s 3C certification database shared by well-known leaker Anvin on X, purportedly listing the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ ahead of their official unveiling.
3C certification typically appears several months before a smartphone launches. The Galaxy S26 series received 3C certification in January 2026 before going on sale in March; the Galaxy S25 completed 3C certification in September 2024 before its January 2025 launch. If Samsung follows a similar pattern, a February 2027 launch becomes less likely while January 2027 appears plausible, though Samsung’s plans could change.
The certification data, however, carries a disappointment for some fans. The standard Galaxy S27; model number SM-S9520, appears to retain 25W wired charging, while the Galaxy S27+ (SM-S9560) continues at 45W. If accurate, the standard Galaxy S model will have been capped at 25W for seven consecutive years, at a time when Android rivals have pushed charging speeds considerably higher.
That said, wattage on paper does not always reflect real-world performance. Samsung’s Galaxy S26 and S26+ charged faster than their predecessors despite unchanged wattage ratings, suggesting software optimisation, better thermal management and improved charging efficiency could still deliver meaningful speed gains on the S27, even without a spec-sheet upgrade.
