Ukraine Just Struck Russia’s Largest Oil Refinery: The Omsk Refinery Was The Last Of Russia’s Eleven Biggest Fuel Producers Still Untouched, And Kyiv’s Drones Finally Reached It
According to the Associated Press, Ukrainian long-range drones struck the Gazprom Neft refinery in Omsk on July 6, roughly 2,500 kilometres from the front line and the deepest confirmed attack of the war.
The Siberian plant processes over 21 million tonnes of crude annually and handles close to 10% of Russia’s refining capacity, making it the eleventh and final name on Kyiv’s list of Russia’s largest gasoline producers to be hit.
This is not a symbolic pinprick. Ukraine’s General Staff now claims strikes have knocked out over 42% of Russian refining capacity, and independent analysts still concede roughly a third sits offline. #
Fuel shortages have already forced Moscow to extend petrol export bans across more than 40 regions. Every burning distillation column drains the war chest funding this invasion.
The message from Omsk is blunt: no target is too far, no facility too protected. Russia can no longer treat its Siberian rear as a safe haven while its cities fire missiles into Kyiv.
